Do-gooder language is a virus

"Sustainopreneurship" is unsustainable, just another example of how do-gooders lacking self-awareness ride semantic waves.

Hi,
Could you please elaborate further with a little more qualitative depth in your critique?
And - what is your premier alternative to create a sustainable world?
Dialogue initiated :) !
Peace,
Anders
deeply aware of the state of the world in need of entrepreneurial approaches to act outside the box since all other means established have proven not to work - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sustainopreneurship
Anders, thanks for the thoughtful comment!
Up in the left hand corner of this blog, there are two articles--"Is Social Enterprise Sustainable?" and "The Social Enterprise Bubble"--that set out my thought at greater length. Best to start with the Bubble piece, I think--it's shorter, an op-ed in the latest Chronicle of Philanthropy.
Other illustrations of what I'm up to are in the next two Uncivil posts on the corporate virus & emergent city.
Ok, I'll start with that.
First out - sustainopreneurship is not philanthropy. It is using business as a means to solve sustainability-related problems, with positive cash-flow as a requirement to release itself from grant and donation dependence (cf. Muhammad Yunus and 'social business'). It uses profit as a means to expand its business qualitatively and quantitatively, in order to create prosperity.
Secondly - sustainopreneurship is mostly about startups (even a radical transformation of corporates towards sustainability is included under the flag 'sustainability intrapreneurship' - but I don't believe so much in the corporates doing the deep transformation...).
I have been in this space as a practitioner not even having a vocabulary of what I did in the beginning, and I was not happy with the vocabulary I found either. Thus my drive to contribute with conceptual development to find an abstract term to describe the concrete as well. My publications so far referred in the Wikipedia article.
I will check out your writings, and continue the dialogue from that!
Peace,
Anders
