So... can we just put eco- in front of anything now and have a hack write a story about it? I'm an eco-writer. All my notebooks are made from twice-recycled newspapers (that themselves were made from recycled Greenpeace posters). I use a quill pen and my own blood for ink. My computer is made of parts I scrounged from the junkyard. My inflated sense of self-importance is completely biodegradable.

i think that is a little much! i am all for the green movement- but a potted plant? come on! i recently got married and did a whole eco-theme myself- but i still made my bridesmaids happy and stylish while staying with the theme. i had them all wear (as my bridesmaid gift) these gorgeous vintage necklaces from Nola Singer Bridesmaid Gifts. the girls loved them and they looked great (much better than potted plants).
I actually think potted plants are a great idea! Who wants to carry around a bundle dying wilted flowers, that probably won't last more than a few days, anyway?
At least you can keep potted plants as a wedding favor, and they can last a long time as a reminder of that wondrous event.
As a future bride, I plan to carry a potted plant down the aisle, as symbolism for the growing and long-lasting love between my future husband and I.
